Riot Gear: Post 004

Welcome to January in New England. Bleak. Desolate. The landscapes succumb to the despair of a monochromatic wasteland. To be honest, I should enjoy it…. except for one thing: It. Is. Cold. It is cold up in this bitch here. Armed with layers of drapery wonderfulness,  and a hot cup of coffee, I (do my best) to refuse to allow my shivering deter my momentum towards making this new year something epic. At least, those are my intentions. (for those not in the know: Brittanny Taylor and I dubbed our New Year’s resolutions as “intentions”, it sounds less tacky.)

Monday’s outfit resulted in a smörgåsbord consisting of all my favorite things: enormous scarf, long cardigan, slimming skirt, big boots. Gray and black. Oh, how I love my gray and black! These days, wearing anything outside of the gray-scale seems almost alien, and well…. wrong to me. It would feel the same if I didn’t have purple in my hair, or was without my  bevy of body jewelry.

I make scrunchy face at you!

The frigid weather allows us to play around with style, as we are also forced to find new ways of keeping warm enough. Take a look through your closet, and see what you can find. You would be surprised to see the new creations you can pull out when all you need is an empty wallet, some ingenuity, and below freezing temperatures!
